These cruiser class vessles are code named Die Hard due to the massive ammount of damage they can take for thier size. One captain of a Defiant class Destroyer was quoted as saying “This thing is as though to kill as fucking John McClain. Fire everything!” It is unknown exactly why these little ships are so beefy. It could be a new type of armor or just that the ship was up together really well. The main danger these ships posses is that they tend to swarm in groups of 5 or better. For whatever reason they are also not as fast as many ship of the same class and size. They tend to focus on missles and electromagnetic mass drivers and have limited armament against fighters.
